Shirred eggs with chili oil are a cheesy, spicy upgrade to traditional baked eggs. Dip toasted bread into custardy yolk, topped with freshly grated parmesan.

Ingredients  You'll Need

– Eggs – Heavy cream – Butter – Ginger – Shallots – Garlic – Red pepper flakes  – Gochugaru – Five-spice powder – Kosher salt – Star anise – Bay leaf – Avocado oil

Step 1

Make the chili oil. Add spices & aromatics to a heat-proof bowl. Heat the oil in a saucepan for 3-5 minutes. Carefully pour the oil into the bowl containing the ingredients. Set aside.

Make shirred eggs. Preheat oven to 375°F. Place two eggs in each buttered ramekin.

Make shirred eggs. Season with kosher salt and freshly grated parmesan.

Bake. For 12-15 minutes or until desired doneness is reached. Once cooked, leave to cool for 3 minutes.

Top with chili oil. Pour desired amount of chili oil. Pair with toasted crusty bread. Enjoy!
