Honey walnut shrimp is crispy battered shrimp coated in a sweet, savory, creamy sauce with candied walnuts. If you are looking for a better than takeout version, keep reading!

Add butter, water, sugar, and salt to a medium saucepan over medium heat. Once mixture comes to a boil, lower heat to a simmer & cook for 5 mins, stirring every min.

1. Make candied walnuts

Add all ingredients to a bowl and whisk until combined. Set aside.

2. Make the sauce

In a separate bowl, add tempura batter and VERY COLD seltzer water. Stir to combine. You should have a nice, somewhat thick batter.

3. Season & coat shrimp

Fry shrimp in batches for 3-4 minutes. Transfer to a bowl then top with sauce, walnuts and sesame seeds.
