Tomatillo Avocado Salsa Uses

This goodness is typically paired with Mexican cuisine. If not served with a particular dish, pairing it with tortilla chips makes for a fantastic appetizer or snack.

  • Top it on tacos (breakfast tacos, anyone?)
  • Pair it with tortilla chips
  • Add a scoop to soups
  • Pair it with refried beans

Tips to Making the Best Tomatillo Avocado Salsa

  • Use small tomatillos. When shopping for tomatillos, go for the smaller ones as they taste better.
  • If you find purple tomatillos, you struck gold! Whenever I can get my hands on purple tomatillos, I use them as they are much more flavorful (just like smaller-sized tomatillos). Additionally, they are higher in antioxidants, you, know, those awesome cancer-fighting compounds.
  • Allow tomatillos to cool before blending. I know you want to blitz and get to eating, but wait until tomatillos cool before pulverizing as it can cause the salsa to be bitter.
