After my first sip of the Hailey Bieber smoothie, I understood the allure of this viral grocery store beverage. It’s a lusciously indulgent blend of organic strawberries, bananas, avocado, and every trendy wellness food or supplement you can think of.
The smoothie tastes amazing, but it’s also an aesthetically pleasing pink drink dotted with clouds of coconut cream and red strawberry glaze. But I couldn’t justify the hefty price tag. Now I’ve recreated my own Hailey Bieber smoothie at home so I can treat myself whenever the craving strikes!
Why This Recipe Works
- Easy – Be your own barista with this simple recipe. We whip up a quick (and totally worth it) strawberry glaze on the stove. Then throw the bulk of your ingredients in the blender. Assembling is as easy as dropping in some glaze and coconut cream in a glass before pouring in your strawberry smoothie.
- Get more bang for your buck – If you want to indulge like a celebrity, ball on a budget with this Erewhon copycat recipe. You get the same high-quality ingredients with more bang for your buck.
- Nutritious – Does the drink live up to its promise of glowy skin? Perhaps, but based on the ingredient list, it’s doing a whole lot of good for your body in other ways.

What is the Hailey Bieber Smoothie?
The Hailey Bieber Smoothie is a signature beverage sold at Erewhon, an organic grocery store with locations in the Greater Los Angeles Area. The model posted her Erewhon smoothie order on Instagram in 2022 and it became so popular that the grocery chain made it a permanent fixture on their menu.
Tools You’ll Need

Ingredients You Will Need for Hailey Bieber’s Strawberry Glaze Skin Smoothie
Here is a breakdown of what you will need to make this Hailey Bieber drink. For actual measurements, see the recipe card at the end of this post.
Strawberry Glaze
- Strawberries – Use fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered for sweet juicy flavor and a vibrant red hue.
- Sugar – This enhances the natural sweetness of the strawberries. You can adjust how much sugar you use based on the sweetness of the strawberries.
- Lemon juice – Add freshly squeezed lemon juice.
- Water – Use this to achieve the desired consistency.

Strawberry Smoothie
- Banana – We use frozen bananas for creamy consistency and a flavor without taking away from the strawberry essence of this drink.
- Strawberry – Frozen strawberries contribute to the thick, frosty consistency of the smoothie while providing a boost of antioxidants and vitamin C.
- Malk almond milk – The vanilla flavor complements the strawberry taste. This is my preference of almond milk as it does not contain fillers or gums.
- Avocado – If you want that luscious mouthfeel, add this healthy fat.
- Medjool dates – This natural sweetener also provides fiber and essential nutrients like magnesium and potassium.
- Vital Proteins Vanilla Collagen – This protein-rich supplement promotes healthy skin, hair, and joints when consumed on a regular basis.
- Maple syrup – Grade A maple syrup tames the fruity flavors, and adds a warm, nutty sweetness.
- Flax meal – Flax meal is essentially ground flax seeds. The fiber in flax meal promotes digestive health. It also contains omega-3s.
- NeoCell hyaluronic acid – This hydrating acid has been touted as a natural way to support joint health, and youthful skin. Keep in mind this is a drinkable version that can be found at health food stores like Whole Foods and Erewhon.
- Sea moss – This is an optional ingredient (I tend to make it without it, but the Erewhon version calls for it.) If you decide to include this, simply added 1½ tablespoons of unflavored sea moss to the smoothie mixture before blending. If you happen to purchase the sea moss from Erewhon, you can opt for their berry flavor.
For the cup
- Zuma Valley Organic Frozen Coconut Cream – This thick cream is used to coat the glass. Ensure it’s partially thawed in warm water for easy handling. Don’t try to substitute with coconut milk because it’s not thick enough.

How To Make the Hailey Bieber Smoothie
Below is a summary of how to make a strawberry glaze skin smoothie. For a complete and detailed list of steps, see the recipe card at the end of this post.
Strawberry Glaze
- Add all strawberry glaze ingredients to a small saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Lower to a simmer and continue to cook for 10-12 minutes, until thickened. Stirring occasionally. Juice will continue to release as the strawberries cook.
2. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Glaze will continue to thicken.

Strawberry Smoothie
- Add all smoothie ingredients to a blender and blend on high until thick and creamy.
Assemble
- Use a spoon to drop three scoops of strawberry glaze in three different parts of the cup from the top.
Cut one corner of the coconut cream pouch and repeat. Repeat with the second cup.
It’s okay to be generous as you want a balance of the cream, glaze, and smoothie as you sip. Top with a straw and enjoy!

Tips and Tricks
- Make this smoothie your own by taste testing the glaze and smoothie mixture as you go. Adjust the amount of sugar and maple syrup to suit your taste preferences. Depending on the sweetness of the berry, you may need to add more or less sugar.
- If you want a supremely creamy smoothie, you need frozen bananas and strawberries and ripe avocados.
- Be mindful of the layering technique when assembling your smoothie. Use a spoon to distribute the glaze and coconut cream evenly throughout the cup.

Variations
It may be called the Hailey Bieber smoothie but just like Erewhon, you can customize your drink!
- Fruits – Consider adding frozen pineapple chunks, raspberries, blueberries, or mangos for more fruity flavor.
- Sweeteners – Instead of maple syrup, you can add organic honey.
- Superfoods – Try adding chia seeds, hemp seeds, or cacao nibs for added texture and nutrients.
- Veggies – Throw some kale, zucchini or spinach in to get a serving of veggies. Keep in mind that if you do this, the color of the smoothie will change.
